Terms of use
Last updated October 20, 2026
Disclaimer. githubworth is a free calculator. Its figures are estimates at a buyer's published rates, not offers, appraisals or a judgment of anyone's work. We only link you to buyers and are not a party to any deal. You use the site at your own risk, and we are not responsible for decisions you base on it. Sections 3 and 8 have the details.
1. Who we are
githubworth ("we," "us") is operated by Pietro Romeo, sole trader, Italy, VAT IT03173170808. Contact: legal@githubworth.com. By using the site you agree to these terms. The privacy policy explains what we do with data.
2. What githubworth does
It counts the code in a GitHub profile's public repos, or in private repos you connect with a token, and prices the count at the rates Pangea publishes, using the counting rules in pre.dev's published script. It links to Pangea if you want to sell code. That is the whole service.
3. What the number means
The figure is an estimate. It applies a buyer's published list price to an automatic count, before the buyer reviews or grades anything. A buyer can change its rates or rules without telling us.
Pangea buys private code you own that was never public. Public repos, forks, templates, published packages, client work and employer code don't qualify, so the figure on a public profile page shows what that code would be priced at, not what anyone will pay for it.
A figure says nothing about a person's skill, character or employability, and it isn't financial, legal or tax advice.
4. Not affiliated with GitHub or buyers
githubworth isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by GitHub, Pangea or pre.dev. GitHub is a trademark of GitHub, Inc. Other names belong to their owners.
5. Profile pages
Profile pages show public data from GitHub. Anyone can remove a page on the removal page. Please don't use the site to harass, rank or misrepresent people, or present a figure as a real offer or valuation.
6. Your token and your repos
If you connect a token, use a read-only one and revoke it when you're done. The token goes from your browser to GitHub only. You are responsible for the tokens you create and the repos you point the site at.
7. Buyers and referral links
Buyer buttons are referral links. If you license code with a buyer, the buyer may pay us a referral fee, as the disclosure page explains. We are only a referrer. We are not your agent, broker or advisor, we don't vet buyers, and any deal, its price and its terms are between you and the buyer.
8. Disclaimer and liability
The site is free and provided "as is" and "as available," without any warranty. We don't promise the figures are accurate, complete or current, or that the site will be available.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible or liable for:
- Any figure, and any decision you or anyone else makes based on it
- Anything a buyer does or doesn't do, and any deal or lack of one
- Buyers changing their rates or rules, or GitHub's data being wrong or unavailable
- How others use or share a profile page
- Your tokens, your GitHub account and your code
- Third-party sites we link to, and services we rely on, such as hosting
- Site errors, downtime, lost data or security incidents
- Any indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, deals or opportunities
If we are found liable despite this section, our total liability to you is limited to €100.
Some laws don't allow these limits. Nothing here limits liability for fraud or gross negligence (article 1229 of the Italian Civil Code), for death or personal injury, or rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived.
9. Using the site fairly
Please don't run bulk or automated lookups, scrape the site, get around its rate limits, or try to get into the admin area. We may block access that does.
10. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws where you live and can bring a claim in your local courts. Otherwise, the courts of Italy have exclusive jurisdiction. Please write to legal@githubworth.com first, and we'll try to sort it out within 30 days.
11. Changes
When these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. The version in place when you used the site applies to that use.
